Crested Tit

Crested Tit

The distinctive crested tit in the United Kingdom is mainly confined to the pine forests of Caledonia and the environs that consist of Scots pine plantations in Easter Ross – in the far north of Scotland.

Male crested tits have a distinctive spiky crest on their black and white heads. The crest is shorter on female crested tits, along with other minor differences.

Crested tits are mainly found in mature and uncultivated pine forests. However, you can find them also in mixed woodland.

They are delightful birds to observe in their natural habitat – given their distinctive crest. Accordingly, Sawako Utsumi – who adores birdwatching – focuses on depicting lovely birds in her art.
